Christmas memories One of my favorite Christmas memories at my local church comes from December 2005. I was a dancer in the church's Christmas musical in Indiana. The night of dress rehearsal we had a foot and a half of snow - and we all still had to show up! I drove for an hour along an unplowed interstate to get to the church. All of the dancers managed to get there, and about half of the choir came. We all prayed for the weather to clear in time for our opening night the next evening. By the time the next day came, the roads had been plowed and the church was full for both performances that night. We had four shows over the course of the weekend. During the finale of each show, the dancers entered the back of the auditorium and slowly walked to the front to the sound of the choir singing "Crown Him with Many Crowns." Being surrounded by sounds of praise and girls in angelic costumes made me think of how wonderful the day will be when we approach the actual throne room of Heaven and see our Savior for the first time. Christmas Memories The life of local churches and its congregants often revolves around the Christmas season. Church choirs start rehearsing their Christmas musicals in October, and congregations in the South celebrate the first Sunday in advent with Hanging of the Green services. Do you have a special Christmas memory that involves your local church? Please share it here on our message board! Posted 13:42:51 on Wednesday, December 12, 2007
