Policy for Publication, Display, or Broadcast of Photos

Format for Citing the Research Center


The Dixon Pentecostal Research Center is a special collections repository for the Church of God and the pentecostal movement. The Research Center is committed to conduct archival procedures according to the Code of Ethics published by the Society of American Archivists.

     
  1. Visitors are welcome and may view the Research Center displays during the posted hours.
  2.  
  3. Because of the special nature of the collection and because it contains some items that cannot be replaced, materials are kept in a CLOSED STACKS area. Research Center personnel will be available during posted hours to retrieve requested materials.
  4.  
  5. When looking for a particular work, check the library catalog in Squires Library for an author, title, and/or subject entry. Materials which are housed in the Research Center are indicated in the on-line catalog with the location as Dixon Pent Center (and books have either PENT or CHURCH or SPEC. COLL. as the first line of the call number)
  6.  
  7. Check the open stacks of circulating materials first. Duplicates are shelved in Squires Library and may circulate. 
  8.  
  9. Finding resources are available for archival materials which are not duplicated and circulated in Squires Library. These include indexes and finding aids for special collections.
  10.  
  11. Only those persons using materials housed in the Research Center may study in the Research Center study area.
  12.  
  13. Any briefcases, book bags, etc., brought to the Research Center should be put in a locker located in the reading room. Other library materials (reserves, reference, periodicals, or circulating books) should not be brought into the Research Center.

  15. Any person who uses the Research Center must sign in/out on the computer provided on the Research Center circulation desk.

  17. No material is to be taken from the Research Center. Photocopies may be made in accordance with copyright laws.
  18.  
  19. Use of ink pens around archival documents is not allowed. Pencils and paper will be provided for taking notes.

Research Center personnel are available to help you locate resources and information pertaining the Church of God and the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements.

  Conditions For Publication, Display, Or Broadcast Of Photos

     
  1. Credit must be given to the Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center and the photographer if known.
  2. The credit line should appear next to the photo. If the publication or display has a separate credit section, it must indicate by page number and location the Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center photos and their photographers. Films, video tapes, filmstrips and slide shows may use a general credit to the Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center at the beginning or end.
  3. Permission should be requested in writing or in person.
  4. Permission can only be granted in writing on a Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center permission form. Possession of a Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center photo does not constitute permission to use it.
  5. In some cases, the Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center requests a copy of the publication be donated to the Center.
  6. If the copyright is still in effect, the publisher must seek permission from the creator of the work or his or her heirs. The Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center will provide the creator’s name, if known.
  7. Permission is for one-time use only. The Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center retains all rights to the photos, and they must not be used for any purpose other than that listed on the permission form.
  8. The Hal Bernard Dixon Jr. Pentecostal Research Center reserves the right to refuse to grant permission and/or provide photo reproductions to publishers and individuals who have not complied with its policies.

The Research Center is unable to appraise any items or materials donated for tax purposes. However, those interested in having their donation or gift appraised can do so by using the website link below to find a certified professional appraiser.
